Best SBI Credit Cards in 2026: Data-Backed Ranking

How we ranked these nine cards

This ranking uses verified card data: joining and annual fees, waiver thresholds, base and accelerated reward rates, monthly caps, milestones and lounge entitlements. No brochure superlatives — where a card's 10X multiplier hides a ₹0.25 point value, we say so and quote the real percentage.

One structural note before the list. Unlike HDFC's SmartBuy or Axis's travel portal, SBI's accelerated categories pay out on direct merchant spends — swipe at the grocery store, order on Swiggy, fuel at a BPCL pump, and the boosted rate applies with no portal routing. The lone exception is the SBI Tata Neu Infinity, whose 5% rate is gated behind purchases made through the Tata Neu app and partner Tata brands. Knowing which rates need routing is exactly the kind of detail that changes real returns.

Best for online spends: SBI Cashback, with SimplyCLICK as the budget pick

The SBI Cashback is the cleanest high-earn card SBI makes: a flat 5% cashback on all online spends with no merchant restriction, and 1% offline, credited automatically to your statement with no redemption step and no ₹99 fee. Cashback is straight rupee value. The ₹999 annual fee is waived at ₹2 lakh spend, and our data rates it 8.0 — the highest of any SBI card here.

The limits are real, though. Online cashback caps at ₹2,000 a month, so the 5% applies to roughly ₹40,000 of monthly online spend. The exclusion list is wide and growing: fuel, utilities, insurance, rent, education, railways, jewellery and wallet loads earn nothing, with gaming, government and tolls excluded from 1 April 2026. No lounge access of any kind.

The SBI SimplyCLICK is the ₹499 alternative for partner-loyal shoppers: 10X points (10 per ₹100) at Swiggy, Myntra, BookMyShow, Cleartrip, Apollo 24|7 and other partners, and 5X on all other online spends. At ₹0.25 per point that 10X is about 2.5% back, capped at 10,000 points a month. Sweeteners help: a ₹500 Amazon Pay gift card on paying the first-year fee, and Cleartrip or Yatra vouchers worth ₹2,000 at ₹1 lakh and another ₹2,000 at ₹2 lakh of online spend. The fee is waived at just ₹1 lakh. If your online spending is broad, take the Cashback; if it clusters on the partner list and you want a near-free card, SimplyCLICK earns its 6.5 rating.

Best for everyday household spends: SimplySAVE cheap, PRIME complete

The SBI SimplySAVE targets the household basket: 10X points (10 per ₹150) on groceries, dining, entertainment and departmental stores against a 1-point base. That works out to roughly 1.7% back in the bonus categories, with a generous 5,000-point monthly cap and a ₹499 fee waived at ₹1 lakh. The base rate outside those categories is a weak 0.17%, so this is strictly a category card — rated 6.0.

The SBI PRIME is the step-up at ₹2,999, waived at ₹3 lakh spend. It earns 5X (10 points per ₹100, about 2.5% at ₹0.25 a point) across dining, groceries, departmental stores and movies with no monthly cap on most of those categories, plus 10X on utilities. It adds a lounge package no other everyday SBI card has — 8 domestic and 4 international Priority Pass visits a year — plus a quarterly ₹1,000 Pizza Hut voucher on ₹50,000 spend and a ₹7,000 Yatra or Pantaloons voucher at ₹5 lakh annual spend.

PRIME's irritations: the 10X birthday bonus is capped at 2,000 points a year, and SBI charges ₹99 every time you redeem points. If you spend ₹3 lakh plus across lifestyle categories and want lounges, PRIME (rated 7.0) justifies itself; below that, SimplySAVE does the same job for a tenth of the fee.

Best for fuel: SBI BPCL Octane

For BPCL loyalists this card is close to unbeatable: 25X earning (25 points per ₹100) at BPCL pumps, roughly 6.25% valueback. The catch is a 2,500-point monthly cap, so the headline rate stops after about ₹10,000 of monthly BPCL fuel — enough for most commuters, tight for heavy drivers.

It doubles as a decent dining card: 10X (10 points per ₹100) with a large 7,500-point monthly cap. The ₹1,499 fee reverses at ₹2 lakh annual spend, an ₹2,000 e-gift voucher lands at ₹3 lakh, and you get 4 domestic lounge visits plus ₹1 lakh fraud liability cover. The base rate is a thin 0.25%, and fuel at non-BPCL pumps earns no acceleration — if your nearest pump is Indian Oil or HPCL, this card loses its reason to exist. Rated 7.0 for the right user.

Best for travel: IRCTC Premier for rail, Air India Signature with a caveat

The SBI IRCTC Premier is the quiet value pick for train travellers. It pays 10 reward points per ₹100 on IRCTC bookings with points worth a full ₹1 each — real 10% territory on rail tickets — plus waivers of the 1% IRCTC transaction charge on train tickets and 1.8% on flights booked via IRCTC. Milestones are unusually achievable: 2,500 bonus points at ₹50,000 and 5,000 at ₹1 lakh annual spend, with the ₹1,499 fee reversed at ₹2 lakh. Eight railway lounge visits a year (2 per quarter) round it out. The 0.8% base rate keeps it niche, but for regular rail bookings it is rated 6.5 and earns it.

The SBI Air India Signature has the best base earn of any card here — 4 points per ₹100 at ₹0.50 a point, about 2% on everything — plus 10 points per ₹100 on Air India bookings converting 1:1 into Maharaja Club miles, and stacking milestones of 20,000 points at ₹5 lakh, 50,000 cumulative at ₹10 lakh and up to 1,00,000 points at ₹20 lakh annual spend. But the ₹4,999 fee has no waiver path, international lounge visits via Priority Pass are chargeable, and — critically — our data notes that new applications for Air India SBI co-branded cards are no longer accepted. Existing holders should milk the milestones; everyone else should look elsewhere.

Best for fitness and wellness: SBI PULSE

The SBI PULSE is a genuine oddity — a health-tilted credit card. It earns 5X (10 points per ₹100, about 2.5% back) on dining, entertainment and healthcare with no monthly cap, and bundles a year of FITPASS PRO and Netmeds First memberships plus a complimentary 2-year Priority Pass membership worth USD 99.

The ₹1,499 fee reverses at ₹2 lakh spend, and you get 4 domestic lounge visits and ₹1 lakh fraud liability cover. Caveats: Priority Pass international visits are chargeable, the memberships only renew if you keep paying the annual fee, and the ₹0.25 point value caps realistic returns. Rated 6.0 — worth it if you would have paid for FITPASS anyway, skippable otherwise.

Best for Tata ecosystem shopping: SBI Tata Neu Infinity

If your household runs on BigBasket, Croma and Tata 1mg, the SBI Tata Neu Infinity is the one SBI card paying a 1:1-value currency: NeuCoins worth ₹1 each, at 5 per ₹100 on the Tata Neu app on top of a 1.5% base — up to 5% inside the ecosystem. This is also the portal-gated exception in the SBI lineup: the 5% needs your purchase routed through the Tata Neu app, while direct spends elsewhere earn 1.5%.

The ₹1,499 fee is waived at ₹3 lakh spend, and unusually for this fee bracket you get both domestic (4) and international (4) Priority Pass lounge visits plus an advertised 1.99% forex markup. Mind the monthly caps — 500 NeuCoins on UPI, 2,000 each on grocery, utility, insurance and telecom — and the ₹6 lakh minimum income. Rated 7.5, the second-highest SBI card in our data after the Cashback.

The verdict: match the card to your biggest spend line

If you can only hold one SBI card, the decision tree is short. Mostly online? SBI Cashback (8.0). Tata-brand household? Tata Neu Infinity (7.5). Lifestyle spends plus lounges? PRIME (7.0). BPCL pump nearby? BPCL Octane (7.0). Regular train traveller? IRCTC Premier (6.5). Gym-and-pharmacy spender? PULSE (6.0). Tight budget, first card? SimplyCLICK or SimplySAVE at ₹499 with a ₹1 lakh waiver.

Two closing warnings from the data. First, every card on this list carries a 3.5% forex markup, so pair any of them with a dedicated low-forex card for foreign spends. Second, multipliers deceive — always convert to rupee value using the point worth, which ranges from ₹0.25 on most of these cards to ₹1 on Cashback, IRCTC bookings and NeuCoins. Frequently Asked Questions

Which SBI credit card gives the highest cashback?

The SBI Cashback card pays the highest flat rate: 5% on all online spends with no merchant restriction, capped at ₹2,000 cashback per month, plus 1% offline. Cashback is credited automatically. For BPCL fuel specifically, the BPCL Octane's 25X rate works out to roughly 6.25% valueback, capped at 2,500 points a month.

Is the SBI Cashback card annual fee waived?

Yes. The ₹999 annual fee is waived on ₹2 lakh of annual spend — about ₹17,000 a month. SimplyCLICK and SimplySAVE waive their ₹499 fees at just ₹1 lakh, while PRIME needs ₹3 lakh to reverse its ₹2,999 fee.

SBI SimplyCLICK vs SBI Cashback: which is better for online shopping?

The Cashback card wins for most people: a flat 5% on all online merchants versus SimplyCLICK's 10X (about 2.5% real value at ₹0.25 per point) limited to partners like Swiggy, Myntra and BookMyShow. SimplyCLICK makes sense if you want a cheaper ₹499 card with an easy ₹1 lakh waiver and shop mainly with its partner merchants, sweetened by up to ₹4,000 in annual travel vouchers.

Which SBI credit cards offer airport lounge access?

In our data, SBI PRIME leads with 8 domestic plus 4 international Priority Pass visits a year. The Tata Neu Infinity gives 4 domestic plus 4 international. BPCL Octane and PULSE offer 4 domestic visits each, and the IRCTC Premier provides 8 railway lounge visits. The Cashback, SimplyCLICK and SimplySAVE cards have no lounge access at all.

Are SBI credit cards good for international spending?

Generally no. All nine SBI cards in this ranking carry a 3.5% forex markup, which erases most reward value on foreign transactions. The SBI Tata Neu Infinity advertises a lower 1.99% markup among its benefits, but for regular overseas spending a dedicated low-forex card is the better tool.
