About Vyaya

Vyaya (व्यय) is Sanskrit for “expenditure”. We built this site around one idea: the answer to “which credit card should I use?” is a calculation, not an opinion. Every recommendation on Vyaya comes from a rewards engine that models the actual earn rules of 150+ Indian credit cards — base rates, accelerated categories, portal-gated multipliers, milestone bonuses, caps and exclusions.

Most card “reviews” in India are ranked by commission. Ours are ranked by the rupee value you get back per rupee spent. When a card is only rewarding through a bank portal like SmartBuy or Travel EDGE, we say so. When rewards are capped or a category is excluded, that's in the math too.

We're a small, independent team of engineers and credit-card enthusiasts based in India. We are not a bank, an NBFC, or a lending marketplace, and we don't sell your data. How we compute every number is documented on our methodology page.

How we make money

Some “Apply” links on Vyaya may be affiliate links, which can earn us a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate status never affects a card's rating, its position in a comparison, or what the calculator recommends — those come from the rewards engine alone. Cards we earn nothing from routinely outrank cards we do.
